Questions

Where is my calendar stored?

On your devices, and in Lantern's own space in your iCloud. In iCloud Drive it shows up as a folder called Lantern. It's plain files in your Apple account: there's no Lantern server and no account, and we can't see any of it.

How do I keep my iPhone, iPad and Mac in sync?

Sign in to the same Apple Account on each device and turn on iCloud Drive: on iPhone and iPad in Settings › your name › iCloud, and on the Mac in System Settings › your name › iCloud. Lantern finds your calendar there on its own; there's no folder to pick.

On a new device, Lantern looks for a calendar you've already started elsewhere and waits for iCloud to bring it over, instead of starting a second one. Changes then travel between devices through iCloud, usually within moments.

On a Mac that keeps iCloud files in the cloud to save space, Lantern may show “Syncing files from iCloud…” while it downloads them. To skip the wait, find the Lantern folder in iCloud Drive in Finder and choose Keep Downloaded.

What happens if iCloud is off?

Lantern works just the same, and your calendar is kept on that device only, so it won't appear on your other devices. If you turn iCloud Drive on later and there's no Lantern calendar in iCloud yet, Lantern copies this one up for you.

I deleted something by mistake. Can I get it back?

Right after you delete something, a banner says Deleted with an Undo button for a few seconds; tap it and it's back.

Deleting never erases anything: Lantern moves what you delete into a deleted folder inside your calendar. If the Undo has gone, write to us and we'll help you bring it back.

Ticked something off by accident? History keeps everything you've finished; tap it there to put it back.

Is there a subscription? Do I pay again for my Mac or iPad?

No subscriptions, ever. Lantern is a one-time purchase, and that one purchase covers Lantern on iPhone and iPad and Lantern Calendar on the Mac. Download it on each device from the App Store with the same Apple Account.

Can Lantern show my other calendars?

Not today. Lantern doesn't read Google, iCloud or other calendars; the events you see are the ones you add in Lantern.
